Our Commitment

Maltopia is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

We believe that Indonesian cultural heritage, especially Malangan masks, should be accessible and enjoyed by everyone without barriers. This platform is designed with inclusive design principles to serve the needs of diverse users.

Accessibility Standards

The Maltopia website strives to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, including blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, limited movement, speech disabilities, photosensitivity, and combinations of these.

The entire site can be navigated using keyboard only. Press Tab to move between interactive elements, Enter to activate, and Esc to close dialogs.

Content is structured with semantic HTML and ARIA labels for optimal screen reader experience. Compatible with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.

👁️Clear Visual Design

Color contrast ratios meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text). Text can be enlarged up to 200% without loss of functionality.

📱Responsive Design

Responsive layout that adapts to various screen sizes and devices, supporting mobile and tablet usage effectively.

🌐Multilingual Support

Available in Indonesian and English to reach wider audiences and facilitate cross-cultural learning.

Known Limitations

While we strive to make Maltopia as accessible as possible, we acknowledge some limitations that we are working to address:

  • Some 3D models may require mouse/touchscreen interaction for optimal experience, though alternative text descriptions are provided.
  • Legacy video and audio content may not have complete subtitles or transcripts, we are working to add them progressively.
  • Some complex interactive features are still being enhanced to improve screen reader compatibility.
